How often should I go to the dentist?
Not only is it recommended by Dr. Alani, but the American Dental Association recommends that patients see their dentist every six months for a dental checkup and teeth cleaning. It is during these visits that we can check for signs of bleeding gums, decay, damage to teeth and restorations, as well as oral cancer. Early detection of any type of oral health problem is best, as it minimizes your chances of requiring extensive and costly restorative treatment in the long run.
My gums bleed. Is that normal?
No, bleeding gums is not normal and should be treated right away. Typically, if you notice that your gums appear red, swollen, and they bleed while brushing and flossing, you are in the early stages of gingivitis. With regular cleanings by your dentist and good oral hygiene habits at home, you can reverse the symptoms. However, if you forgo gum disease treatment, you’re likely to experience advanced periodontitis that can lead to bone and tooth loss.
What should I do if I experience a dental emergency?
The first step is to call our office and let us know of the injury. After listening to the situation and determining the severity over the phone, we’ll not only work to schedule an appointment for you, but we’ll also provide first aid tips you can use at home to manage the pain and avoid further harm to your mouth.
Will my veneers look natural?
Yes! Dr. Alani is trained and experienced in providing cosmetic dentistry services, including veneers. By carefully placing each one in its designated space, your teeth will look new and improved, and completely natural. You won’t need to worry about any bulky materials that were once used to create these artificial teeth but instead, she’ll ensure that the size, shape, and color align with your desired look, guaranteeing a beautiful, fully transformed appearance.
Am I a candidate for a smile makeover?
You are likely to be a candidate for a smile makeover if you are tired of living with multiple smile imperfections, such as chips, stains, cracks, discoloration, misshapen teeth, gaps, overcrowding, bite misalignment, and more. Naturally, you must undergo an initial consultation to determine the status of your oral and overall health. As long as you do not need any preliminary treatments, you’ll be scheduled to start your smile makeover right away.
Will you accept my dental insurance?
We are happy to accept your dental insurance and will file any necessary claims on your behalf. You simply need to let us know who your plan is with, and we’ll work to determine how we can best maximize your benefits.
